Connecting Communities
The Eastrail is a major south-north spine of our regional trail network that will connect to over 175 miles of existing regional trails. Eastrail also connects with Eastside Link Light rail and RapidRide stations serving 350,000 Eastside residents and over 1 million residents in greater King and Snohomish Counties.
With proactive and thoughtful community engagement, Eastrail will be safe biking and pedestrian route connecting diverse neighborhoods from Renton to Snohomish County with other trails in the region and to each other.
Conserving Greenspace
Eastrail is greenway in and of itself - a slice of nature amongst highways and rapidly developing urban centers. - This habitat provides shade and cleaner air. Trailside plantings, gardens and adjacent green space supports stormwater management, habitat for wildlife, while also creating a sense of place for communities and trail users.
Promoting Economic Development
Eastrail links employment centers, residential neighborhoods, and regional transit hubs. Picture easy bike and transit commutes to work, and trail-side businesses like bike, running and skate stores to coffee shops and breweries.
